“As a large bright moon rose we settled down to a gourmet three-course meal of goat’s cheese soufflés, Spanish cod and pear tarte tatin ……..” Country Living
We can’t always guarantee a full-moon, but as you will have seen from the posts, food plays an important role in our lives, and we take great pride in the quality of the food that we grow and produce here at Little Trewern.
We use only the best ingredients which are locally sourced. Our chicken comes from Leominster, our pork from the Forest of Dean, and our red meat and venison come from farms in the Golden Valley. All our meat is free-range. Our eggs come from Little Trewern hens who live well in their own orchard!
Our fruit and vegetables are sourced either from our own garden or orchard (we grow over 20 different types of vegetable each year) or from local growers, such as Pepe, who farms “down in the valley” five miles from us.
Please take a look at our Dinner Menus.
We are sorry to disappoint you, but due to a change in family circumstances, which we hope will be felicitous, we will not be able to provide evening meals or Romantic Breaks during 2018.
We charge £22.50 for a two course meal, and £25.00 for a three course meal. This includes coffee and tea and petit fours. However, we do ask both guests to choose the same menu, as we do not have the capacity in the kitchen to produce more then one option, unless one of you is vegetarian or vegan.
Please note we regret that we are not always able to provide an evening meal on Tuesdays, as I am the musical director of the Black Hill Voices, and that is our practice evening!
Please bring your own wine, as we are not licensed to sell alcohol!
We always start the day with a good breakfast. We will ask you to choose what you would like in advance, so that we can have it ready for you when you arrive at the table.
American muffins – chocolate, orange, apple.
Bavarian Stollen (in winter only)
Cornish saffron buns
Full Little Trewern cooked breakfast with fried eggs or scrambled eggs (from our free range hens) Herefordshire Welsh back bacon and Herefordshire sausages, home grown tomatoes (in season) and local mushrooms.
Home made bread, jams and marmalade, and fresh fruit, joghurt and muesli are always available.
And when the weather is good, we eat al fresco on the terrace, with its wonderful views of the Black Mountains.
