If you come on a romantic break at Little Trewern don’t forget to bring your own bikes, or can hire them locally.
The quiet country lanes around Little Trewern are ideal for gentle bike-rides, which allow you to get up close to the beautiful wild flowers which carpet the fields, woods and hedgerows in this totally unspoiled landscape.
And a touring bike is a great way to visit the many small villages and hamlets, with their ancient churches and traditional pubs, without expending too much effort! My husband Simon especially recommends a trip to the nearby village of Rowlestone, where you can enjoy wonderful home-made ice-cream at one of the local farms.
For the more energetic, mountain-biking in the Brecon Beacons is huge attraction! There are 14 exciting single-track Mountain-bike routes in the Brecon Beacons, which take you over heath and hill and through streams and bogs, and which we can thoroughly recommend. And for the real adrenaline freaks, why not try the Grwyne Fawr Black Mountain Bike Route – we haven’t tried it, but one of our guests has, and he returned to tell the tale! Even more locally, only 15 minutes from Little Trewern is the “UK’s most exciting downhill & freeride centre” at the Black Mountains Cycle Centre.
If you are a cycling aficionado why not come on a Romantic Break? We will provide you with a tasty nutritious breakfast to start the day, a delicious packed lunch for your midday break, and you can tuck into a beautifully cooked three course dinner on your return!
