“An idyllic spot with spectacular views of the Black Mountains and gourmet meals” Country Living
Little Trewern is our beautiful stone-built farmhouse. It nestles by the river Monnow, below the Black Mountains of the Brecon Beacons National Park. The farm enjoys fabulous views of the the Black Hill, made famous by the writer, Bruce Chatwin.
Our Romantic Hideaway is a luxurious ground floor suite, with a double bedroom, large private bathroom, a dining / sitting room with log-burning stove, and a fabulous terrace with spectacular views of the Black Mountains.
And if you come on a Romantic Break you will be our only guests!
The double bedroom, with fabulous views towards the Red Darren and the Black Mountains, is light, airy and spacious, and furnished with antique heirlooms from my French family.
This double bedroom has its own private bathroom, with bath, walk-in shower, w.c. and wash-basin.
The sitting room / dining room looks out onto the Black Mountains, and is a wonderful place to snuggle up to the fire if the weather is cool.
But if the weather is warm, as it is just now, then the terrace is the place to enjoy afternoon tea when you arrive.
And talking of meals, we are absolutely passionate about the food that we offer!
Almost everything we serve is grown organically on our own land, or selected from specialist small farms nearby. All the meals are prepared here and cooked in our traditional farm-house kitchen.
There is a choice of delicious evening meals, and you can choose from a wonderful variety of breakfasts, from the traditional English cooked breakfast to Welsh muffins, Cornish saffron buns, French croissants, Alsatian Kugelhupf or Bavarian Stollen!
You can take advantage of our great value Romantic Hideaway Break for 2, which includes all your meals at Little Trewern for two days. It’s a great way to unwind from the stress of city life!
Stay and Learn at Little Trewern You can also combine a little learning with a relaxing stay, by signing up for one of our French language or French Patisserie courses, which have been featured in Country Living, the Observer Magazine, and the Independent Newspaper.
Although we do ask you to pay to stay here, the warm hospitality, the beautiful countryside, and the total peace and quiet of our Romantic Hideaway, all come free of charge!
